Book Review- The Astonishing Color of After

“There’s no point in wishing. We can’t change anything about the past. We can only remember. We can only move forward.”

Title- The Astonishing Color of After

Author- Emily X.R. Pan

Genre-
Paranormal Fiction

Mini-Review-
Reading this book was such an amazing experience. I have never something like this book. The idea behind the book is just wow. I love the characters, the story, and the plot line everything about this book. It has some trigger warnings as well. Nonetheless it is a definite read. It shows different mental states and how little things affect us. I love how the author has used different colors to depict different emotions. Both the main characters being the artist are one of my favorite things as well.
It is a story of how Leigh recover from the loss of her mother. After her mother’s death, Leigh constantly saw a bird around which was her mother. Her mother wanted her to remember. And she couldn’t put out what. Later in the book, she discovers more about her culture and family history. And all the memories she somehow forgot. In the end she was able to find her identity that she lost. It is a very heart-wrenching story and will warm your heart.

This book read is for #readingwithmuffy by @muffytales and May Prompt is – Focuses on Mental Health.
